It’s that time of year where your weekends are filled withbaby showers, bridal showers, or weddings!
A sweet friend of mine will be getting married this summer and we had the opportunity to bless her with a special bridal shower last week.
I volunteered to be the game master because I LOVE ALL THE GAMES. I really enjoy finding themed group games that are cute and fun, but don’t cause humiliation or require a lot of physical involvement.
Here are the 3 games we played and they were all a huge hit!
Game #1 – Don’t Say BRIDE Ring Game
I found this cute game idea from the blog From Mom’s Desk. It’s a spin off of the clothespin game you normally see at baby showers.
We found some plastic engagement rings at Party City (but you can buy them HERE– affiliate link) and spread them out around the sign. Guests had to put a ring on. If someone at the party was caught saying, “BRIDE” then their ring was stolen.
The person with the most rings at the end won a prize!
Game #2 – Say Yes to the Dress!
This game was too cute! I created a simple printable with directions, cut out a photo of the bride’s head, and made photo copies of the page for each guest. We set the stack of pages out with a large basket of crayons.
The idea is that guests get to design the bride’s wedding dress. This can be done by designing a traditional dress, or thedesign could bebased on the bride’s personality.
Our bride loves Charlie Brown, rainbows, and she happens to have an alter ego that is obsessed with vegetables – so the guests really honored the bride’s passions in this game!
At the shower, I was originally just going to ask the bride the same questions and see if her answers matched up with his, but then I had the idea to ask the groom to video himself answering the questions.
Once I got his 20 mini videos, I dropped them into a Powerpoint presentation that we shared at the shower. I found a free wedding Powerpoint template by using Google.
It was AMAZING. The guests LOVED seeing the groom in action through the videos. And it was almost eery how well these two know each other! They were the same on almost every answer except a few!
A twist on this game would be to make the bride put a large marshmallow in her mouth for every question she answers that does not match her groom’s.
We skipped that part because we were trying to keep it classy. 😉
We had such a fun time celebrating the future Mrs.!

The bride will open her gifts in front of the guests and often express her gratitude with a short speech. And opening gifts isn't the only thing the bride does at this event. In addition to gift giving, bridal showers may also involve playing games, eating great food, and having the bride's favorite drinks.
With an average battery life of three hours, a bridal shower typically has three games going on at once. If you're worried about making the wrong choices, talk to the bride-to-be and make your decision based on her input. Everything she says is fair game because this is her bridal shower.
"What was the Bride Thinking?" is a game that tests guests' knowledge of the lady of the hour! The bride chooses a wedding related word that starts with each of the letters of the alphabet, then guests try to match what she chose! The person with the most correct guesses is the winner!
The 2 spouses sit back-to-back. Each has 2 different shoes: Their own and their partner's. The host will ask questions, such as, "Who's the better dancer?" Each of the spouses raises the shoe when they think they are the ones that match the question.
Paint & Sip is perfect for both bridal showers and bachelorette parties, as it's a super exciting way to spend time creatively and discover your inner Picasso. Plus, this activity will get guests mingling and having so much fun.
In short, the host is the one who pays for the bridal shower—or at least some of it. Most commonly, this is the maid of honor, but the couple's relatives, friends or even the to-be-weds themselves can all pitch in to cover the cost of the wedding shower.
Bridal showers typically last 2-4 hours and are not considered an all-day event. Although, depending on the type of shower you are hosting the time can vary. Most showers will either take place in the morning and serve as a brunch, or in the afternoon served with lunch or finger foods.
Bridal Shower game: "What's in the sock?" place items that the bride might need on her honeymoon in long socks and number them. Guest can only touch socks with their feet to guess what's in the socks. Person with the most correct answers wins.
This 'What's in Your Purse' Baby Shower Game includes 24 game cards that list common and not-so-common items found in purses, including keys, gum, a screwdriver, and nail polish. See how many items your guests have in their purses. The person with the most points wins. Suitable for 2 to 24 players.
How many shower prizes should you have? You'll need one grand prize for each of the bridal shower games you're playing during the party. If there's room in your budget, you can include optional second- and third-place prizes for each game, or reward all the players with small prizes for participating.
Arguably one of the most well-known wedding traditions is the bouquet toss. In this tradition, the bride tosses her bouquet of flowers, and a group of single ladies attempt to catch it. It is said that the lady who ends up with the bouquet will be the next to get married or will receive good luck.
Give the teams about 15 mins (and a glass of Prosecco) to design and make their dresses, then let them strut their stuff and show off their toilet paper wedding dress designs channelling their inner Naomi Campbell. The bride then gets to choose the winning group based on creativity and originality.
Everyone gets a mustache (to represent the groom) and lips (to represent the bride). After asking each question, on the count of 3, everyone holds up who they think the answer is. The bride and groom reveal their answers. If they answer the same, everyone who got it wrong takes a drink.
For example, you could serve up her favorite foods and signature drink, decorate in (or wear) her favorite color or reference a film or book she loves in the theme and décor. It's a fun way to make the bride feel extra special on her big day.
Offering something interactive and hands-on, or even hiring an outside pro like a sommelier or mixologist, is a great way to help guests who don't know each other feel more comfortable and welcome.
