White gowns look good on Jennifer Lopez.
The superstar married Ben Affleck in Las Vegas on July 16, 2022, later holding a larger celebration for family and friends at the actor’s lavish Georgia estate —and, true to her diva form, she wore a whopping five dresses between the two celebrations to finally marry her longtime love.
While she rocked three different Ralph Lauren styles in Georgia, the actress and singer also had an outfit change in Vegas, including one she described as “from an old movie.”
While it’s unknown to which film she was referring, the singer-slash-actress has said “I do” in a remarkable number of flicks over the years, from 2001’s “The Wedding Planner” to 2022’s “Marry Me.” And for these onscreen nuptials, she’s worn bridal looks ranging from a simple ivory sheath to embellished-all-over couture.
Lopez has also been married four times in real life; before tying the knot with Affleck, she was wedded to Marc Anthony from 2004 to 2014, Cris Judd from 2001 to 2004 and Ojani Noa from 1997 to 1998.
Here, take a look back at every wedding dress J.Lo’s worn, both for her real-deal marriages and in movies from most recent to the first times.
Georgia wedding with Ben Affleck (2022)
Bennifer held a second, much more opulent wedding to celebrate their marriage with family and friends in August 2022, and Lopez did not hold back when it came to the bridal glam.
She wore three Ralph Lauren gowns for their all-white wedding at Affleck’s Georgia estate, choosing a suitably dramatic style to walk down the aisle.
The first dress featured a high neck and row after row of ruffles, with the glam gown ending in a showstopping train. She accented her elegant look with a cathedral-length veil and nearly $100,000 worth of Mikimoto pearl jewelry.
The hitmaker changed into a second dress for the reception, wearing a form-fitting, pearl-draped style with Swarovski crystals and micro-pleats of silk tulle that took a team of 30 artists 700 hours to create.
Last but not least, Lopez then changed into a sexy mermaid-style gown for her final reception outfit. The halter-style dress — which included a plunging Swarovski crystal-embellished keyhole — also featured a low back and a sheer organza hood.
Vegas wedding with Ben Affleck (2022)
To marry her onetime “Gigli” co-star in Sin City, Lopez wore a duo of dresses, one of which was an off-the-shoulder lace gown from Zuhair Murad’s bridal collection featuring long sleeves, a corseted bodice and a fishtail train. She paired the look with a traditional lace-trimmed veil, wedding bouquet —and, of course, her jaw-dropping green diamond engagement ring.
When confirming the nuptials in her On The JLo newsletter, the “Waiting for Tonight” hitmaker also shared photos and videos of herself in a sleeveless floral jacquard Alexander McQueen design.
“I’ve had this dress for so many years, and I’ve just been saving it, saving it, saving it, and now I’m wearing it on my wedding day,” she gushed of her second look.
“Shotgun Wedding” (2022)
Lopez stars opposite Josh Duhamel in this action-packed bridal movie in which, according to IMDb, “a couple’s extravagant destination wedding is hijacked by criminals.”
The leading lady spends much of the movie in this corseted Galia Lahav bridal gown with a tiered skirt, which gets progressively more tattered as the plot progresses.
In fact, the designer said in a press release that its team created a whopping 28 dresses for the film “so the gown could be modified, ripped, and transformed into a uniform suitable for a glam action hero.”
“Marry Me” (2022)
As music superstar Kat Valdez, J.Lo wears this spectacular Zuhair Murad Couture creation covered in metallic embroidery and embellishments to marry beau Bastian (Maluma) in front of thousands of fans. But when she discovers he’s been cheating on her, she decides to say “I do” to a random audience member (Owen Wilson) instead.
“The dress weighed 95 pounds and required five people to transport it and an entourage to get Jennifer in and out of it, but it gave the dress that volume,” costume designer Caroline Duncan told Variety, adding that the “extremely heavy” gown is meant to serve as a visual metaphor for the character’s too-big, over-the-top public nuptials.
“El Cantante” (2006)
Filmed just a couple years after Lopez and co-star Marc Anthony got married for real, this biopic is based on the life of latesalsasingerHéctor Lavoe. As Lavoe’s bride, Puchi, Lopez wore a lacy empire-waisted gown with a flowing veil.
“Monster-in-Law” (2005)
The “Let’s Get Loud” crooner and Jane Fonda (in the titular role) butt heads in this rom-com, which sees Lopez wearing an ivory SaeYoung Vu Couture gown and gloves fit for a princess. (Not to be outshined, Fonda’s character turns up in a white dress of her own.)
Wedding with Marc Anthony (2004)
Lopez exchanged her vows with Anthony in the backyard of her Beverly Hills home, dressed in a strapless Vera Wang gown, Neil Lane jewels and a romantic edged veil.
“Enough” (2002)
Slim’s (Lopez) marriage to the abusive Mitch (Billy Campbell) in this early-aughts thriller might’ve been far from a fairytale, but with its beaded spaghetti straps and embellished veil, her character’s bridal look was undeniably beautiful.
Wedding with Cris Judd (2001)
Lopez wed dancer/choreographer Cris Judd in a stunning Valentino gown featuring floral lace and sheer embellished sleeves.
“The Wedding Planner” (2001)
In one of J.Lo’s most beloved rom-coms, her character, wedding planner Mary Fiore, prepares to say “I do” to Justin Chambers’ Massimo in a vintage-style boatneck dress and pillbox hat with polka-dotted veil. (She eventually ends up with the right guy, Matthew McConaughey’s dimpled doctor Steve).
When Meghan Markle married Prince Harry in a similar Givenchy design in 2018, comparisons between the two dresses flooded social media.
“I got a lot of texts aboutMeghan Markle’s wedding dress,” costume designer Pam Chilton told Glamour. “I’m like, ‘Well, I’m sure it’s a coincidence.’ But she was at a good rom-com age when the movie came out — she could have been watching it at sleepovers!”
Wedding with Ojani Noa (1997)
To marry her first husband, actor Ojani Noa, Lopez wore a sleek, sleeveless white lace gown and styled her hair in a high bun adorned with flowers.
